Builders Come to Montréal

Fourteen museum professionals from Canada, the United States, the UK, and Slovenia joined Paul Doherty and me today at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal for LAB SL, a hands-on workshop at the Museums and the Web 2008 conference about creating museum exhibits, spaces, and events in Second Life. We immersed the group, who work at a variety of different types of museums, in practices we’re learning and developing to create content in the engaging virtual world. Everybody took easily to the modeling and texturing tools and had fun exploring spaces and useful techniques for creating content. Great job, LAB SLers! I can’t wait to see the museum experiences you’ll go on to create!
